Beautiful late 18th-century English sterling silver caster/muffineer in classic George III form, featuring a pierced dome top with elegant spiral finial and bright-cut style decoration.

This piece carries full English sterling hallmarks including the lion passant and London assay mark. The maker’s mark appears to be a script “HB,” attribution to the celebrated silversmith Hester Bateman firm

The form, restrained proportions, and elegant simplicity are very much in the Bateman style and period.
